Introduction

AssetR is a self-hosted asset, license, and inventory manager built for internal IT teams. It tracks serialized assets (laptops, desktops, monitors...), software license seats, non-serialized accessories and consumables, and the employees things get assigned to — with a full history and audit trail behind every action.

Who it's for

AssetR is an admin-only tool. Regular employees never log in — an Employee is just a record representing who something is currently assigned to. IT/admin staff (Admin Accounts) log in and do the actual work, with two roles: Super Admin (everything, including Settings, Backups, and the Audit Log) and Asset Manager (day-to-day asset/license/accessory management and Reports, no Settings/Backups/Audit Log access).

• Serialized assets with a full checkout/checkin/repair/retire lifecycle
• Software licenses with seat-level assignment
• Accessories (reusable stock) and consumables (one-way issued stock)
• Employees, and everything currently assigned to each one
• A permanent, sequence-numbered audit log of every action taken

How it's deployed

AssetR ships as a Docker Compose stack (the app plus Postgres) meant to run on infrastructure you already control, with no data leaving your network unless you configure it to (e.g. your own SMTP relay for email alerts). Prefer not to run it yourself? We also offer managed hosting.
